Ten more entities allowed in inter-bank bond market, paper says

As many as ten foreign financial institutions, including the Indonesian and UK units of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC, 01398.HK), have been allowed to participate in the mainland inter-bank bond market under the latest batch of approvals, the National Business Daily reported Tuesday, citing sources from the China Foreign Exchange Trading System. Since the launch of a trial scheme, the People’s Bank of China has granted approvals to a total of 77 institutions. The latest batch of ten firms, seven of which are subsidiaries of ICBC, marked the highest number of approvals in a single batch, the report said.
