Taiwan, Japan ink railway and other pacts , Kyodo says

Taiwan and Japan on Tuesday signed new agreements and memoranda of understanding covering five fields, after earlier inking a bilateral fishery deal in April, Kyodo news agency reported. The latest agrrements cover railway, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, intellectual property and maritime rescue of accident-struck planes. Both sides also plan to cooperate further in other economic fields, although no negotiation on a bilateral free trade agreement has begun yet, the report said.
