Seven-day refund period eyed for online shopping, Xinhua says

The Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce has urged e-commerce operators to ensure customer rights are protected in their sales promotions and other marketing activities for the Nov. 11 “Singles Day”, an online shopping festival celebrating the unmarried life of young people in China, the official Xinhua news agency reported Thursday. In a meeting with representatives of 16 e-commerce firms, including, Amazon, Suning, Gome, VANCL and, the municipal agency called for a cooling-off period of seven days, during which customers may return products for a refund, the report said.
