Chengdu eases rules on affordable homes, paper says

Chengdu, the capital of southwestern China’s Sichuan province, has eased rules for residents to qualify to buy affordable homes in the downtown area, China Economic Times reported Tuesday, citing the city’s housing bureau. Restrictions on applicants, including income level, age of single residents, and floor area, have been relaxed to allow more residents to avail themselves of the city’s housing program. As of October, the city has finished the construction of 900,000 affordable homes, the report said.
