UK’s Cameron to visit China in early December, Reuters says

British Prime Minister David Cameron will lead a trade delegation to China in early December, his first such visit since he angered Beijing by meeting with the Dalai Lama last year, Reuters reported on Monday. The trip reflects the British government’s desire to forge closer trade and business links with the world’s second biggest economy and ease a diplomatic spat involving Tibet’s spiritual leader, whom Beijing considers a separatist, the news agency said, citing excerpts from his speech. Cameron said the trip would help British companies gain more access to China’s vast markets and prepare “the way for a new level of Chinese investment” in Britain.
