S Korea seeks more cosmetics exports to China, Yonhap says

South Korea on Wednesday started senior-level talks with China to increase its exports of cosmetic products to the country, Yonhap news agency reported. The two-day talks were held between officials of South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and China’s State Food and Drug Administration after the Chinese health regulator imposed new approval procedures for cosmetic products used for special purposes, thus adding to the difficulties of exporters, the report said. China is South Korea’s second-largest market for such products, amounting to US$209 million in 2012, it added.
