Taiwan revises rules on mainland investment, CNA says

Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs will release revised rules Thursday regulating mainland investment on the island in a push to strengthen oversight of such investments, Central News Agency reported Wednesday, without citing any source. Under the new rules, regulators will be able to revoke mainland investment that has a monopoly or oligopoly on the industry, or that may threaten national security or economic development. The ministry also said that its survey of mainland firms on the island found that 82 percent of the 275 registered companies are operating normally, the report said.
