The average price of a Shanghai car license fell by 8,000 yuan (US$1,317) this month after the Shanghai municipal government reintroduced curbs, the official Xinhua news agency reported Sunday. The local government has intervened several times this year but prices have continued to rise, punching above 80,000 yuan in October, the report said. The lowest winning bid for a private car license in Shanghai this month was 75,500 yuan, down by 6,800 yuan from a month ago. The average license price this month was 75,717 yuan, a drop of 8,006 yuan from the previous month, the report said.
