SMEs driving Guangdong economy, website says

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have become a major contributor to the economic growth of Guangdong province, JRJ.com reported Sunday, citing governor Zhu Xiaodan. By the end of last year, 502 SMEs made up 51 percent of the province’s total industrial value-added output  and contributed 89 percent of its tax revenue. Meanwhile, SMEs were reponsible for about 75 percent of technical innovation, the report said.
