State firms executives face pay controls, paper says

Executive salaries in state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and companies owned by the central government are out of balance, China Business Journal reported Sunday, citing the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. Some senior executives of SOEs make annual salaries of up to 10 million yuan (US$1.64 million), the report said. It did not give comparative figures for executives in central government-owned companies. The ministry has submitted a proposal to the central government to regulate executive compensation, the report said.
