State broadcaster China Central Television attracted 3.5 billion yuan (US$574.5 million) worth of advertising for the 2014 season, Securities Times reported Monday, citing the results of an auction. The tender included spots in the 2014 World Cup and 10-second ads to be aired after the prime-time news broadcast. The winning bids were 91 percent higher than the starting prices and 4.5 percent more than in 2013. GOME Electrical Appliances Holding Ltd. (00493.HK) won the exclusive naming rights to the Chinese New Year Gala program for 131 million yuan, the report said.
