China bank assets up 14.67%, CBRC says

Chinese banks had assets worth a combined 115 trillion yuan (US$18.88 trillion) in the first nine months, up 14.67 percent from a year earlier, the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) said on its website Tuesday. Liabilities rose 14.45 percent year on year to a combined 107.47 trillion yuan. Banking assets increased by 2.03 trillion yuan in the third quarter alone while liabilities expanded by 1.78 trillion yuan, the CBRC said.
