China may allow foreign banks in CLO pilot scheme, paper says

China’s banking regulators are considering allowing locally incorporated foreign banks to participate in a pilot program for collateralized loan obligations, a form of asset securitization, Shanghai Securities News reported Tuesday, citing unnamed sources. Foreign banks should submit their application to the regulator by the end of November. Some foreign lenders have shown strong interest in the program as a way to manage liquidity, the report said.
