China has 157 billionaires, second only to the United States, the official Xinhua news agency reported Tuesday, citing a survey by investment bank UBS and Wealth-X. Chinese billionaires have an average age of 53, nine years younger than the world average. Hong Kong ranked seventh worldwide with 75, the report said. The US topped the rankings with 515 billionaires. The combined wealth of the world’s billionaires climbed to US$6.5 trillion this year from US$3.1 trillion in 2009 while the number of billionaires rose 60 percent. The number is expected to grow to 3,900 by 2020, the report said.
