China is willing to complete negotiations with Australia soon on establishment of the China-Australia Free Trade Area, Xinhua news agency quoted a Chinese commerce ministry spokesman as saying Tuesday. Spokesman Shen Danyang made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists in the wake of Australia’s industry minister making positive comments on the subject earlier this month. Minister Ian Macfarlane said while visiting northern Chinese city of Tianjin that Australia expects to sign the free trade pact with China in the first half of 2014. China is also keen to see the signing of the free trade agreement as soon as possible on the principles of mutual benefits and balanced interests, said Shen.
