The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) will speed up all kinds of reform outlined by the top leaders, including those related to administrative approvals, investment system, macroeconomic controls and pricing issues, the official Xinhua news agency reported Tuesday. NDRC chief Xu Shaoshi was quoted as saying that departments under the Sate Council has delegated 334 approval rights this year to lower-level agencies and that the NDRC itself has delegated approval powers on 44 items. There will be more delegation of powers going forward, he said. In order to improve the mechanism that allows the market to decide prices, government control on pricing will be reduced and a transparent price monitoring system will be set up faster, Xu was quoted as saying.
