China to name and shame cheats, Xinhua says

China will publicize intellectual property rights (IPR) violations and build a system of real property registration, the official Xinhua news agency reported Wednesday, citing a statement from the State Council. Manufacture and sale of counterfeit or substandard products and all forms of IPR infringement will be disclosed to the public after legal proceedings. The move is part of the central government’s efforts to step up transparency and is expected to spur improvements in product quality, boost consumer confidence and encourage innovation, the report said.
