Cordyceps weekly price index down 22.1% from April, paper says

The weekly price index of cordyceps sinensis or Chinese caterpillar fungus, a traditional herbal medicine mainly grown in Tibet, has declined 22.1 percent to 142.57 points as of Monday, from the peak level seen in late April, the 21st Century Business Herald reported late Wednesday, citing herbal medicine information provider Ysindex.com. The price fell to 180,000 yuan (US$29,539.12) per kilogram on Monday from 220,000 yuan per kilogram early this year, the report said. The drop follows the government’s clampdown on extravagant gift-giving, a business insider was quoted as saying.
