Hareon Solar Technology Co. Ltd. (600401.CN) will invest 10 billion yuan (US$1.63 billion) to build photovoltaic (PV) power plants in Inner Mongolia’s Alashan League, according to a regulatory filing from the company Thursday. The plants will have installed capacity of one billion watts in total. Construction of a 100 million watt plant will be completed within 2014 in the first project’s first batch, the filing said. Stock exchange data shows Hareon’s total assets stood at only 11.58 billion yuan at end-September and that it suffered a net loss of 220.80 million yuan for the period.
