Locke denies air pollution made him quit, paper says

Gary Locke, the first Chinese American ambassador to Beijing, has denied his resignation was prompted by air pollution, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday. Locke said on Wednesday that he will leave the post early next year to rejoin his family in Seattle. Chinese netizens have insinuated Locke resigned because he could no longer take Beijing’s foul air, news portal ifeng.com reported.
