Moscow market inspections hit Chinese merchants, CNS says

The Chinese embassy in Moscow has moved to calm jittery Chinese merchants over large-scale government inspections in the capital’s Lyublino market, China News Service reported Friday. The inspections, which have been carried out in the past two days, are mainly focused on identification checks and illegal financial activities and are not targeted at any nationals, the report said, quoting a spokesman of Moscow’s internal affairs department. The embassy urged the government to protect the rights of Chinese merchants, the report said.
