New policies eyed to encourage M&A deals, paper says

The China Securities Regulatory Commission may roll out some policies to facilitate mergers and acquisitions among A-share listed firms, as it aims to nurture more large-scale companies, Shanghai Securities News reported Friday, citing unnamed sources close to the regulator. The measures, which are being reviewed and discussed, may include simplified administrative and approval procedures, greater flexibility in pricing and valuation mechanisms, and abolishing the minimum share issuance requirements for third-party acquisitions, the report said.
