Shenhua raises thermal coal prices, paper says

China Shenhua Energy Co. Ltd (01088.HK, 601088.CN) has raised the price of most types of thermal coal by 16 yuan (US$2.63) per metric ton for the seven days to Nov. 27 compared with the preceding week, China Securities Journal reported Friday, citing company data. It is the ninth consecutive weekly increase. The company expects coal sales in November to hit a yearly high of 50 million metric tons, the report said. The transaction price of Shenhua’s 5,500-kilocalorie thermal coal at Chinese ports is nearly 600 yuan per metric ton compared with the factory price of 565 yuan per metric ton, an industry source was quoted as saying.
