Some polluters in Taiyuan told to cut output by 20%, CNR says

The government of Taiyuan city, the capital of northern China’s Shanxi province, has ordered some industrial firms that have been causing high levels of pollution to cut their production by 20 percent during the winter, China National Radio reported Thursday, without citing any source. The move follows an order from the provincial government to the city to preserve air quality. The firms affected include Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co. Ltd., thermal power plants owned by GD Power Development Co. Ltd. (600795.CN) and Datang International Power Generation Co. Ltd. (0991.HK, 601991.CN), the report said.
