The death toll from Friday’s oil pipeline explosion in Qingdao rose to 52 on Sunday afternoon, Xinhua reported the same day, citing rescue services in the city. The pipeline is owned by China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. (Sinopec Corp.) (00386.HK, 600028.CN). Sinopec chairman Fu Chengyu offered his condolences to the families of the dead at the site of blast on Saturday and promised full cooperation with State Council investigators. Sinopec said in a regulatory filing on Saturday that its production and operations are stable, as is the supply of oil products to the market, the report said.
