CGNPC to help build Romania nuclear power plants, Xinhua says

China General Nuclear Power Corp. (CGNPC) said on Tuesday that it has signed a letter of intent with Romania’s national nuclear power company for cooperation in building two nuclear power plants in the East European country, Xinhua news agency reported Tuesday. The deal marks the second of its kind for the Chinese state-owned firm in Europe after an earlier one in October for a project in the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, the National Energy Administration signed a preliminary pact with Romanian energy authorities for potential collaboration on peaceful use of nuclear power, the report said.
