Countdown to Shenzhen airport move, SCMP says

Shenzhen’s airport will shut at 10pm Wednesday and shift operations to its new terminal, with the first flight due to depart just before 8am Thursday, the South China Morning Post reported Wednesday. The airport will permanently close its three existing passenger areas — terminals A and B, and Hall D, and direct all traffic through its 8.5 billion yuan (US$1.39 billion) new terminal, the report said. It will cut the number of flights by 30 per cent from the usual 600 for the first day and keep cargo volume and passenger numbers down for several days to ease the transfer, the report said. The first flight of the day, Shenzhen Airlines flight ZH9853, will depart for Hohhot in Inner Mongolia via Wuhan at 7.55am, it said
