CNOOC eyes 6-10% annual output growth till 2015

China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) (00883.HK), the nation’s largest offshore oil producer, aims to maintain its oil production at an annual growth rate of 6 to 10 percent through 2015, company chairman Wang Yilin {王宜林} said in a press conference in Hong Kong on Thursday.

The company’s oil production jumped to 1.034 million barrels of oil equivalents (boe) in the third quarter from 87.8 million boe a year earlier. CNOOC targets 338 million to 348 million boe production for this year.

It also intends to expand into deep-water and unconventional oil exploration in the coming years.
