CPC plans new rules to improve party governance, Xinhua says

The Communist Party of China (CPC) said on Wednesday that it will establish a set of key rules within five years to improve the party’s internal management and supervision, Xinhua news agency reported. The five-year plan on the formation of intra-party rules, the first of its kind since the CPC was established in 1921, is a strategic initiative to build a sound regulatory system and enhance the party’s governance, it said. Under the plan, the CPC will amend current rules, some of which are old or inconsistent with each other, and establish new ones that are urgently required.
