EU slaps anti-dumping duties on China solar glass, paper says

The European Union (EU) on Wednesday imposed tariffs of up to 42.1 percent on solar glass imports from China, alleging that Chinese manufacturers were selling their products below cost and hurting European producers, China Daily reported Thursday. The provisional levies, resulting from an anti-dumping investigation that the Commission launched in February, would range from 17.1 percent to 42.1 percent, the European Commission was quoted as sayingThe duties would be effective for six months, but could be prolonged for five years if the EU member states make a final ruling by May 27 next year to extend the tariffs.
