Two Sinopec execs detained over Qingdao blast, Xinhua says

China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) (00386.HK, 600028.CN) said two executives responsible for its pipeline operations have been suspended pending further investigations into a deadly blast and crude oil leak in Qingdao, Shandong province, last week, Xinhua reported Wednesday. The employees were identified as Sinopec Pipeline Storage and Transportation Company party secretary Tian Yimin and general manager Qian Jianhua. The refiner also said it would conduct a wide-ranging inspection to weed out safety risks in operations spanning its crude oil, refined oil, liquefied gas, natural gas and raw material supply pipelines, the report said.
