Bond issuance during October totaled 800.4 billion yuan (US$131.376 billion), up 9.2 percent year on year but 8.4 percent lower than the previous month, Xinhua reported Thursday, citing the People’s Bank of China. For the 10 months to October, total bonds issued increased 17.3 percent year on year to 7.8 trillion yuan. Of this, 7.5 trillion yuan were issued on the interbank market, up 15.9 percent from the same period a year earlier. As of the end of October, the value of bonds under custody was 29.1 trillion yuan, of which 94.1 percent, or 27.4 trillion yuan, were interbank market bonds, the report said.
