Average new-home price in 100 key Chinese cities was up 0.68 percent in November from a month earlier at 10,758 yuan (US$1,765) per square meter, marking the 18th straight monthly rise, China News Service reported Sunday, citing data from the China Index Academy. Of the 100 cities tracked, 69 recorded housing price increases compared to the previous month, six fewer than the number of cites that recorded price gains in October, it said. Thirty-one cities recorded price declines in November, compared to 24 in October. Despite the price increases, expectations for further rise in new-home prices have waned as many cities have rolled out stricter home purchase policies, such as higher downpayment requirements, the report said.
