China’s official manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI) came in at 51.4 in November, unchanged from the previous month, the official Xinhua news agency reported Sunday, citing the China China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and the National Bureau of Statistics. The November figure marked the fourth straight month of expansion and kept PMI at its highest in 19 months, the report said. The Chinese economy is in a phase of steady growth, Zhang Liqun, a research fellow of the Development Research Center of the State Council, was quoted as saying. A figure above 50 suggests expansion in manufacturing activity.
