EU slaps anti-dumping duty on some China solar panels

The European Commission announced late Monday that it will slap two-year punitive duties on some solar panel imports from China, starting from Dec. 6, according to a statement on the website of the European Union’s executive organization. The duties are composed of an anti-dumping and an anti-subsidy duty. The duty rates only apply to Chinese exporters that do not meet the conditions set out in a voluntary price undertaking. Depending on the company, the two-year anti-dumping levies range from 27.3 to 64.9 percent, while the anti-subsidy rates are from 3.5 to 11.5 percent.
