Japan’s Toshiba Corp. said it will stop making LCD (liquid crystal display) televisions in its Dalian plant by the end of the year, Kyodo news agency reported Monday, citing a company announcement. The decision is in line with a revamp of its struggling TV manufacturing business, leaving the company with a lone production facility in Indonesia, the report said. More than 900 jobs at the Dalian plant will be cut and production will be outsourced. The plant will be converted into a factory for medical and industrial electrical equipment, the report said.
