Chinese banks may be allowed to open UK branches, paper says

Chinese banks are likely to be allowed to set up branches in Britain in the next 12 months, 21st Century Business Herald reported Wednesday, citing British treasury official William Brandon. Britain is considering giving approval to Chinese banks engaged in wholesale banking to establish operations in the country, the report said. Prime Minister David Cameron is in China at the head of a 100-strong trade delegation.
