Food prices stable in major cities in late November, NBS says

Average food prices in 50 major Chinese cities remained stable in the 10 days to Nov. 30, data on the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) website showed Wednesday. Pig haunch cost 26.67 yuan (US$4.38) per kilogram, up 0.7 percent from the previous 10 days, while the price of pork belly rose 0.5 percent to 26.37 yuan per kilogram. Cost of celery declined 4.2 percent during the period while that of tomato was down 6.6 percent, the NBS data showed.
