Most airlines submit flight plans amid China ADIZ, report says

Fifty-five airlines from 19 countries and 3 regions have submitted flight plans to Chinese authorities when flying through China’s newly established air defense identification zone (ADIZ) over the East China Sea, news portal Caijing.com reported Tuesday, citing foreign ministry spokesman Hong Lei. The spokesman said at a regular press conference Tuesday that the reason the government has set the zone was for keeping the country’s air space safe and orderly, according to the report. He added that the measure was completely consistent with international practices and China’s sovereign rights.
