Chongqing Brewery Co., Ltd. (600132.CN) said the owners of 5,914 share accounts, representing 194 million shares, have accepted a purchase offer from Carlsberg Brewery Hong Kong Ltd., Xinhua reported Thursday. Carlsberg earlier offered to buy 146 million Chongqing Brewery shares at 20 yuan (US$3.29) per share, equivalent to a 30.29 percent stake in the Chinese brewer. But because shareholders offered to sell more stock than originally proposed, Carlsberg will buy 75.24 percent of the 194 million on offer. Before the share acquisition offer, Carlsberg owned 29.71 percent of Chongqing Brewery, the report said.
