China PV installed capacity hits 10 mln kw, Xinhua says

Photovoltaic (PV) plants in China have a combined installed capacity of about 10 million kilowatts at the end of October, 3.5 million kilowatts more than the level seen at the end of 2012, Xinhua news agency reported late Thursday, citing data from the National Energy Administration (NEA). Of the total, 7 million kilowatts came from PV power stations and the rest from distributed PV Plants, the report said. The government will promote distributed PV plants to account for 60 percent of total PV installed capacity in 2014, senior NEA official Liang Zhipeng was quoted as saying.
