Seoul, Beijing eye data sharing on air quality, Yonhap says

Environmental officials from Seoul will pay a visit to their counterparts in Beijing next Wednesday to discuss a proposal to set up an air pollution information sharing system between the two cities, Yonhap news agency reported Thursday. Under the proposal, Seoul and Beijing will share real-time information on six types of air particles, including PM2.5 or those measuring 2.5 microns or below in diameter and  PM10 for nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen monoxide and ozone, the report said. The Seoul city government is also studying several cooperation plans with Beijing on air quality, including setting up monitoring cameras on Beijing streets and holding seminars annually, it added.
