Coal output slips but sales pick up in Oct, report says

China’s coal output and sales for the past 10 months are stabilizing, with the price of coal rising, Xinhua reported Saturday, citing the China National Coal Association. National coal production slipped 0.3 percent year on year for the past 10 months, marking four consecutive months of shrinking declines, while sales for October picked up 1.9 percent, according to association data. A stabilizing economy, higher heating demand, and thermal power growth boosted the coal market, association official Wang Zhanjun was quoted as saying.
