Debt crisis seen fueling Sino-EU trade frictions, website says

The debt crisis in certain European countries has led to increasing trade frictions between China and the European Union, Chinanews.com reported late Monday, citing Ma She, a senior official of the Department of European Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce. Trade value between China and Europe recorded the rare decline last year, compared with a double-digit growth seen in previous years, Ma was quoted as saying. In the first 10 months, trade value between China and European countries only grew 0.5 percent year on year with China posting a trade surplus of US$95.7 billion, down 5.2 percent from a year ago.
