Hubei judge sacked over video with alleged mistress, SCMP says

A senior judge in Hubei province has been sacked after a video emerged online showing him entering and leaving a hotel with his alleged mistress, the South China Morning Post reported Tuesday. Zhang Jun, who headed the third division of the provincial criminal court, was dismissed by Hubei’s High People’s Court which said he would be further investigated. The footage from the CCTV cameras of a budget hotel was taken in October and surfaced on internet forums on Sunday, along with a post mentioning Zhang’s name and workplace, the report said. The nearly 18-minute video showed Zhang and the woman being joined by another woman in the lobby. The woman checked in while he waited in the lounge before taking the same lift with her. The pair was seen leaving the hotel separately more than two hours later, the report said.
