Nov consumer goods retail sales up 13.7%, NBS says
Mainland retailers sold 2.10 trillion yuan (US$331.21 billion) in consumer goods in November, up 13.7 percent from the previous year, according to a statement posted on the National Bureau of Statistics’ website Tuesday. The growth rate for November is at an 11-month high. Retail sales in urban areas rose by 13.6 percent year on year to 1.82 trillion yuan in the month, while rural regions posted a 14.8 percent increase to 280.8 billion yuan. During the first 11 months, China’s total consumer goods retail sales climbed 13 percent to 21.13 trillion yuan, according to NBS data.
