Bahrain seeks China participation in infrastructure, paper says

Bahrain will invite Chinese firms to participate in infrastructure projects, including railways and airports, in the Persian Gulf nation, as part of efforts to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two sides, China Securities Journal reported Wednesday, citing Bahrain’s Minister of Transport Kamal bin Ahmed. The official was quoted as saying that Chinese firms will be invited to join bidding in July or August next year for construction of a rail link between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. A delegation led by Bahrain’s economic development committee and mainly comprised of Bahrain private firms is set to visit China in April, while a Chinese trade delegation will visit Bahrain in September or October, the report said.
