China Jan-Oct gold output up 7.7%, HKEJ says

Gold production in China totaled 39.84 metric tons during October, just under 2.2 metric tons more than the September figure, the Hong Kong Economic Journal reported Wednesday, citing the China Gold Association. Total output for the first 10 months was 347.65 metric tons, an increase of 24.88 metric tons, or 7.71 percent, year on year. About 285.20 metric tons of the production between January and October came from gold mines — up 5.16 percent year on year — while 62.45 metric tons, or 21.12 percent more, was associated with non-ferrous metals output, the report said.
