China trade disputes up 12% in Jan-Nov, Xinhua says

China faced 80 cases of trade disputes with 18 countries and regions in the 11 months to November, up 12 percent from a year earlier, Xinhua news agency reported Tuesday, citing data from the Ministry of Commerce. The recent handling of the solar equipment row between China and Europe shows that negotiation was still the best method ito resolve trade conflicts, ministry spokesman Yao Jian was quoted as saying. As many as 121 domestic solar equipment exporters to the European Union have participated in the price guarantee negotiations organized by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, whose members account for 79 percent of the country’s solar exports to the EU, Yao added.
