China may ramp up fiscal expenditure this month to meet its annual spending target, Beijing Times reported Thursday. Fiscal spending in the 11 months to November was 11.47 trillion yuan (US$1.89 trillion), up 9.3 percent from a year earlier. However, it lags this year’s budgeted spending target by 2.4 trillion yuan, the report said, citing the Ministry of Finance. The central government may accelerate fiscal spending to make up the difference, some analysts were quoted as saying.
